TOMISLAV CVITANUŠIĆ

Tomislav Cvitanušić was born in 1971 in Pula, Republic of Croatia. He completed primary and secondary school in Sarajevo, then obtained his master’s degree at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education at the University of Sarajevo. Tomislav Cvitanušić is a former, and unsuspecting, basketball player of the famous Bosna club from Sarajevo, today’s marathon runner, triathlete and alpinist. 

So far, he has successfully completed more than twenty marathon races around the world, and is the first person from Bosnia and Herzegovina to complete all six of the world’s biggest marathons. He successfully participated and finished six times the most difficult triathlon race in the world known as “Ironman”. 

In addition, he participated in the prestigious and less extreme triathlon in the world NORSEMAN in Norway, as the first person in the territory of the former common state.

In addition to running and triathlon, Tomislav is also an active alpinist. During his career as an alpinist, he reached the highest peaks of five continents. He was also the first person from Sarajevo to reach the top of Mt. Everest. He is also a member of the association of ski trainers and teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tomislav Cvitanušić is currently the President of the Supervisory Board of the BiH Olympic Committee.
